Thomas Wirth alias Super*me

"With almost 28 years of experience in the fashion industry, Thomas rose from successful sales representative for a skate and surf label and key account manager at Levi's to management at Tommy Hilfiger, where he played a key role in establishing the brand in Europe.

Thomas then became Sales Director Europe, responsible for the various lines of the Sixty Group. Wanting to understand the entire value chain of the industry. Thomas then worked for several years as Creative Director for a major manufacturer, where I was responsible for the design and production of both private labels and well-known international brands.

Thomas then spent seven years as Vice President and CEO at Replay, where he revitalized the brand with innovations such as Hyperflex.

Thomas then founded a successful start-up in the football merchandise sector together with famous German football players, Lukas Podolski and Dennis Aogo, where he developed internationally patented solutions for increasing the visibility of advertising space, among other things. After that, Thomas turned to art. Presently he is one of the most sought-after artists worldwide.

Super*me is both the artist's name and an ironic reference to not taking himself too seriously. Born in Germany in 1971, Super*me worked for many years as CEO and Creative Director for well-known fashion brands around the world, where he developed his passion for art. In his art, Super*me combines his childhood memories of ATARI games with streetwear influences from California.

Accordingly, the combination of street art and gaming is characteristic of his artwork. His artworks are applied to a wide variety of materials and are intended to encourage people to question themselves. Basquiat, Banksy and influences from the gaming and streetwear scene serve as his artistic inspiration.

Super*me does not only appeal to art connoisseurs. Everyone can identify with his artwork and question themselves and society. Art should be fun and thought-provoking, but his sometimes very provocative art, with its honesty and authenticity, always makes the viewer smile.

Super*me does not use a specific technique, but relies on mixed media, combining a variety of materials and techniques. He prefers to paint with oil and acrylic on canvas and incorporates 3D effects into his often large-format works. "Overthinking is the greatest waste of human energy. Trust yourself, make a decision and gain more experience for your life. There is no such thing as perfection. You can't think your way into perfection, just do it the way you believe in it."
